Photoshoots can indeed be intimidating!
You know those photos your team keeps asking you to take for social media, marketing, and your website?
They might come to you and say, “Hey, go do this.
We need pictures of you pointing at something or sitting in front of something.”
But you might think, “I’m not sure who I am, and I don’t know what to wear.”
For example, a client once shared that she felt completely inauthentic during her branding shoot because the images didn’t resonate with how she saw herself.
This disconnect was evident in the photos.
That’s when I asked her a significant question: Are you dressing as the comfortable version of yourself right now, or are you dressing for the new, elevated version of yourself who is ready to step up and take charge?
This question prompted an enlightening discussion, leading her to explore what image she wanted to embody and present in her daily life and photos.
The key to a successful branding shoot is having a clear, defined vision of the style that represents you.
If you’re struggling to let go of your old self, it’s likely because you haven’t clearly defined who your new self is and what that person looks like.
Once you identify the new you and the environments where you spend your time, you can create a fresh image and select new outfits.
This will excite you to participate in branding shoots because they will represent your true self.
To help clarify your vision, consider these important questions:
– Who am I becoming?
– How does that feel, and what does it look like?
Once you have the answers to these questions, you can plan a style aligned with your brand and lifestyle.
Are you ready for your next photoshoot?
