The fourth quarter starts this Tuesday, and the holiday season is approaching. Fall is an enjoyable time but comes with its pressures, from work demands to finishing the year on a strong note and numerous holidays.
Let’s get prepared in the next couple of weeks so you can be energetic, focused at work, and ready for holiday gatherings.
It’s time to review your fall wardrobe.
What do you have in your closet that fits well and excites you to wear?
Do these pieces align with how you want to feel this holiday season?
What events do you know you have to attend in October? Halloween parties, in-person work events, work-related travel, family gatherings, and volunteer events.
Do you have the right outerwear? The temperature is dropping. Do you have the right jackets, coats, and rain jackets? We often realize midway through the season that we need specific outerwear; sometimes, we prefer a particular fit, like a shorter jacket or a raincoat with a hood. In-between coats are for when temperatures are not too hot or cold.
Let’s look at three options many of my clients have added to their closets.
While shopping at Saks, I discovered a beautiful cape from Loro Piana, the Salzburg Belted Cape, that I absolutely love. This jacket’s elegance and unique look stood out to me the most. It’s an investment piece to have in your closet for all the special occasions where you need something elevated with a unique style different from the typical coats you wear most of the season.
This suede jacket from Madewell is versatile and can be worn over a dress, pants, or jeans. It’s a light jacket that, when paired with a warm sweater underneath, it, creates a beautiful outfit. It’s perfect for when you’ll be spending a lot of time in the car and at the venue, so you won’t need an oversized bulky jacket. Instead, you’ll want something that complements your outfit and still keeps you warm.

A suede vest is another great core piece in your closet; wear it over a dress with boots, pants or even jeans. The camel color works with so many color schemes; it keeps you warm, especially in places that are not always warm enough in the colder temperatures.

Taking time to go through your calendar and try on your current closet, you can easily start shopping this week while inventory in the stores and online is full. Here’s the thing: the retail world is quiet because people are outdoors enjoying the fall weather, so this is the time to take advantage and get your looks all set for the season. Shop for your holiday gifts, book your self-care day.
If you focus on yourself now, you are going to have the best 4th quarter and enjoy the holidays.
If you could reflect back to last year at this time and recall what you wished you had done earlier, let’s commit to this.
If you would like to do this together, I still have spots in my “Elevate Your Style For Fall” 4-week program where I take you through a step-by-step process of creating your new signature look for fall. This is a new program I’ve put together and am trying out for the first time. It’s a great value that I recommend if you ever want to work with me but the investment is too high. Join the “Elevate for Fall” series and let’s put your signature look together.
