Our “Elevate Your Fall Wardrobe” workshop started last Thursday and was fantastic! We discussed the important aspects of planning your wardrobe, understanding your calendar events, identifying where you spend most of your time, considering how you want to feel, and creating color schemes to make building a cohesive wardrobe easy.

The one aspect of wardrobe planning I’m seeing clients get clarity on is creating color schemes for the season. Having color schemes in your wardrobe plan makes it easier to create more outfits using pieces you already have in your closet. In a previous email, I created looks around the popular fall color burgundy. Today, I wanted to talk about the color camel.

It is a popular fall color and is versatile. It exudes warmth and timeless elegance, making it a popular option for various clothing pieces. For a harmonious and natural look, camel pairs well with various hues, including other earthy tones such as olive green, deep browns, and warm rust colors. For a more modern and refined feel, camel can also be combined with crisp white, navy blue, or soft blush tones. It can even be paired with black, making it a great option for those who love black and want to introduce camel into their fall wardrobe. Overall, the color camel offers understated luxury and versatility, making it a valuable addition to any fashion palette.

Let’s take a look at a couple of looks I’ve put together for your fall inspiration.

The color combination of purple and camel is currently trending in the fashion world, with deep royal purple making appearances in many stores, from White House Black Market to M.M. LaFleur. This color pairing is not only vibrant and eye-catching but also exudes a sense of warmth and sophistication.

I recently put together a chic ensemble featuring a classic camel pencil skirt paired with a luxurious purple turtleneck and a coordinating cardigan. This versatile look is perfect for the office, business meetings, and speaking engagements. To complete the outfit, you can opt for a simple yet elegant look with flats, or add a touch of edginess and allure with brown high boots or classic heels. Incorporating a wide belt can add a personal touch to the ensemble while opting for a brown belt that can introduce a striking contrast and a playful element to the overall look.

For the second look, I love this soft mint green sweater dress paired with camel jackets and matching classic heels or brown boots. It is ideal for work, meetings, and travel. Sweater dresses pack easily, and this is a thin sweater. Pair it with boots for colder days. This color combination creates a refreshing and sophisticated style that exudes a sense of tranquility and warmth. The soft mint green complements the earthy tones of the camel jackets and brown boots, making it a versatile and elegant choice for various occasions.

The combination of camel and denim is a timeless and elegant choice. The structured, classic-cut denim blazer with brown leather trim perfectly complements the wider-leg camel pants and an ivory cashmere sweater. This color scheme reflects a sense of sophistication and versatility. Pairing this outfit with classic heels adds a touch of refinement while opting for suede cowboy boots can create a more relaxed, bohemian look.

For our last look, I’m going with our classic black, which effortlessly works with camel. Since I know black is in the majority of people’s closets, I want to present this combination so you can consider adding it.

The classic combination of black and camel creates a sophisticated and timeless look. Black brings elegance and power, while camel adds warmth and understated luxury. Together, they create a versatile and chic look suitable for various occasions. So, your classic black blazers, sweaters, and shoes work effortlessly with a pair of camel-colored pants or skirts.

Clients often tell me how stuck they feel with their current wardrobe. When we introduce some new colors, suddenly they have 15 more new looks in their wardrobe. I would love to know what color scheme you want me to discuss next.
