I’m so glad you are joining me for this 3-Day Declutter Challenge. I’m eager to see all the positive changes you will experience in just three days. In the video, I mentioned several ways of dealing with items that no longer hold value for you. There are more options available these days, and it all depends on what you have. Even if it’s not a monetary payback, recycling is powerful too.
Brands that Buy Back their Clothes
Select stores are choosing to be more sustainable and now buy back their brand clothes. You can now sell gently worn items back to the brand you purchased.
For example, Coach now offers a service to trade in a good-condition bag for store credit, and M.M.Lafluer also buys back its clothes for store credit.
Please note that you must review the guidelines carefully and understand that each store differs. It depends on the condition of your item and how long you’ve had it. So, be sure to read your guidelines first.
Here’s a list of current US brands offering this option. For my readers outside of the US, check out your favorite brands as they may offer similar programs in your country.

Recycle Donation Boxes
More and more local donation boxes are now offering recycling meaning select items that may be stained or unwearable can be recycled.
Retold Recycling
Retold Recycling is a sustainable initiative that aims to minimize textile waste. They provide convenient donation boxes where people can drop off clothing items that may be stained or unwearable. These items, which would typically end up in landfills, are then recycled by Retold Recycling. Through their recycling process, they ensure that the materials are repurposed or transformed into new products, reducing the overall environmental impact. This innovative approach not only promotes eco-friendly practices but also encourages a more circular and sustainable fashion industry. By participating in Retold Recycling, individuals can contribute to the reduction of textile waste and support a more environmentally conscious way of handling unwanted clothing items.
