Have you known someone who is always happy even when life is throwing a bunch of challenges? I’ve known many and always admire their ability to just be happy all the time.
My greatest teachers have all taught me that happiness is an inside job. If you rely on other people or the conditions around you to be happy you will never truly be happy. Every experience you are having in life is result of what you believe and give your attention to. The universe is always reflecting back to you what you believe whether it’s good or bad.
Ever notice when you are in a good mood things are always working out for you. The right people show up, you get good sales, things go right at work and the day just gets so good you almost can’t believe it’s real! But, the next day you are focused back on what’s not working in your life and your call to your friend to complain about your life situation only creates more of your problems.
The key is to understand that where you are is due to your past beliefs and your attention to them. To get where you want to be you have to focus on that.
If you want more money in your life, decide to write a new money story. Talk to yourself about how easy money comes into your life, appreciate the money you have in your bank accounts, the money you get paid each week, all the bonus money that comes from coupons, discounts, contests, free gifts and even the money you money find on the sidewalk.
Even if your financial situation is not abundantly flowing, talking about the lack of it will just keep you there.
Understand that every day is a new opportunity to change any area of your life from relationships, job and health just by changing your focus.
Here is a great example:
I have a client who was laid off from her job and decided she was going to focus on her business but due to the lack of money she just couldn’t get her business up and running. She didn’t want to get a job as she felt it was a sign of failure, but the stress of finances was impacting her health and business. Finally one day she surrendered and accepted a job offer. She didn’t judge herself for taking on this job in fact she was a bit excited to get out of the house 5 days a week and have her mind on other things. This distraction was almost a vacation and she gained more clarity about her business. Her job was getting her in a better financial situation and money started to show up from all sources. She realized that she did herself a disservice by not negotiating for more money when she accepted the position but now that she had started, asking for a raise was not an option.
I told her the key was to appreciate the money she was making and focus on what it would feel like if she was making 20% more each paycheck. How would it feel to be able to make larger payments to her credit cards, how would it feel to have extra money to buy more clothes and go out with friends, in just a few days her energy shifted as she gave more attention to prosperity and writing a new money story.
Her business started to get more clients, but even better was when she received a call from another company asking if she would be interested in a new position that was double her current salary!
Now this wasn’t her plan, she really wanted to get her business thriving, but she knew from past experience that she need to have a better financial cushion. By accepting the new position and more money she recognized that her energy around money had shifted and now this new position could get her more money, pay off her debt faster and help her gain confidence with her business. She is now on her way to achieving her goal.
Her success came when she accepted where she was and stayed focused on what she wanted. And this is the key to your success, accept where you are and tell a new story with the outcome you desire.
