Lately, I’ve been reflecting on a small but powerful detail in my wardrobe—red shoes.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know how much they meant to me. My power red shoes carried me through the early years of building my Feng Shui business. They were my go-to for speaking engagements, networking events, and moments that demanded presence.
But I wore them out and never replaced them.
That realization made me pause. If red makes me feel confident, strong, and aligned, why haven’t I fully embraced it in my wardrobe? Why did I treat it as a one-time statement instead of making it a signature part of my style?
I’ve owned red pieces, a dress, a top, but my red shoes were symbolic. Yet I wasn’t wearing more of this power color.
Recently, I found a new pair of red shoes. I love wearing them, but they’re delicate. I’ve already realized they’re not ideal for driving. And that got me thinking. Why do I only have one pair of red shoes? Why am I holding myself back from having more?
This is the shift. When we recognize what we love, we need to allow ourselves to bring more of it into our lives. If red shoes make me feel empowered, why not have multiple pairs in different styles? If you love denim jackets, why not own several? Choose variations in cuts, colors, and styles, but get more of what makes you feel like you.
Sometimes, finding red in the styles I love has been a challenge. For years, it wasn’t trending, and that limited options. This past year, however, red has made a resurgence. It’s fascinating how much fashion trends shape what we buy, even when we deeply love a color or style.
As you navigate reinvention in this evolving economy, energy matters. Staying focused and optimistic while pivoting through challenges is essential.
For me, that meant asking myself why I was waiting to bring more of what I love into my wardrobe. Red energizes me, and I also love earthy greens, warm browns, and rich creams. Lately, I’ve been seeing more of these shades in the cuts and styles that flatter my body type.
So I’m making intentional choices. I’m curating style boards to seamlessly integrate these colors, ensuring my four pairs of red shoes get the spotlight they deserve.
Using color strategically isn’t just about fashion. It’s about personal branding, presence, and stepping fully into who we’re becoming.
It’s easy to overlook how much color influences us, not just in what we wear but in how we express ourselves.
Now I’m looking at my wardrobe differently. I’ve mapped out a color scheme that truly resonates with me. Earthy hunter greens, deep navy instead of black, warm beige and khaki tones, and of course, red. Instead of waiting for the perfect red piece, I’m integrating it alongside colors that support and elevate its energy.
