Yesterday, I attended a breakfast event celebrating International Women’s Day.

During the event, five women from different industries shared their career journeys, all emphasizing the importance of having fun at work.

I completely agree that enjoying your work is crucial, but sometimes challenging environments and difficult coworkers can drain our energy and take away the fun from aspects we want.

I was intrigued to hear one of the speakers say that, instead of getting sucked into all the fear, she put her head down and focused on all she could do in her role and her team to keep them thriving even though the company was going down.

This takes discipline, but it was ironic because, in her career, she faced challenging times and was able to continually keep her job and get bigger opportunities as she learned staying focused on her responsibilities and solutions is the key to her success.

You have the power to step into a role as a leader and uplifter and thrive in your work. The question to ask yourself is, “What thoughts do I need to change to have the success that I desire?”

In my work, I use the tools of your wardrobe to support the energy you need to become to keep this new mindset and role you want to achieve. Your clothes have a power that can make you feel powerful, playful, confident, and abundant, and when you learn to see your wardrobe as a tool to help you with your goals, you begin to create a new image.

This is an image that, when people meet you, they see a confident, radiant woman who’s going places.

In this week’s video, I share a powerful story about a woman breaking into the financial industry in 1981 and how her boss told her what she needed to wear to earn respect from her male-dominated company and evolve in her career. You will be surprised by her journey, but I share how you can learn to use your wardrobe to empower yourself and elevate your career.
